I was wondering where to find the brass or aluminum tubes and rods that are used to make coilovers and whatever else. Also what is the best way to go about painting these? Thanks, I know I ask many questions but I am a little new to detailing my cars.

Your local Hoby Shop is a good start, my neighborhood Hardware store carries some as well in the craft area

Yeah, check your LHS first: Even a train shop might have a selection of styrene tubing and sheets.
The plastic rods paint up just like the plastic the rest of the model is made of: Clean it up, prime, and paint.

Two US companies for plastic sheets, rods, tubing, etc. are
Plastruct and Evergreen. You can order direct. I prefer the Evergreen line, but both are very good.
Good luck !
