I am having problems with my Jimmy. I have taken it to a transmission shop and to a car dealer and they keep sending me back and forth. The transmission shop say that it is a computer error and the dealer says that it is a transmission problem.
Here is what is going on. When I start from a stop it takes a while for the car to move. I have my foot on the gas pedal but it just sits there and then finally kicks in. But, If i am slow down to about 20 mph and then push on the gas, I have no problems. Also, when driving on the highway at more than 50 mph it never switches to overdrive and instead of taching at 2000 rpm, I am taching over 3500 rpm. This started when my Service Engine Light came on.
Please help.
Thanks,

What does the code on the SES indicate? any surging in rpm's? does it get up to 50 mph and suddenly lose rpm's. It almost sounds like you are describing something I had a problem with, where the vehicle was sluggish, felt like it wasn't shifting right, slipping, and would constantly drop rpms when I got up to 3k. Mine turned out to be a Transfer control module shorted out by a damaged wire harness, and the computer/transmission believed that the vehicle was in 4wd low when it was not, thus tried to limit rpms and such. I even lost the drop down capabilty when I tried to pass. Gas mileage dropped to about 8-10 mpg. I took it to AAmco, they had it for a whole day and said the trannny was fine. The dealer diagonosed and repaired the problem. Can you relate to any of the above symptoms?
