Hey, i'm having my body kit installed right now, and decided to have my whole car painted (YAHOOOO), now, it's milano red right now...but faded...so....here are the choices...(feel free to add some if you have pics...not anything nuts, and it has to be red!!!)

first....
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/612305S2000_New_Formula_Red_S2000.jpg
That's the "new formula red" for the s2000.

Second....
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/753521Prelude_Milano_Red_Prelude.jpg
That's "milano red" on a prelude, like what mine came stock, just not faded....let me know what you guys all think....

Thanks

Mike

I think your car would look tight in the new formula red of the first pic. I dont know it looks like it will stand out more! :D The other one on the lude looks too dull for me

k, well i've decided on the formula red....which is setting me back about $3000cdn (including install of body kit, spoiler and hood), but, for an extra $500cdn, i could have it wet sanded and polished, giving it that show room glaze...is it worth it? MAN...such a money pit....please help me out

Hey man I say go for it!! $500 not that much in CND right? You'll probably be happier that you did! Do it all at once so your car doesnt have to be in the shop a long time. I saw do it bro! You don't wanna kick yourself in the ass and say, "shit I shoulda done it!"...couldnt hurt right? It'll make it look nice!! :D

$3000 is a pretty good price in Canada ... he's talking in terms of Canadian money so that's about $2000 or less $US ...

heh, $3000 is more than usual, but it's the best place in town. I don't want to mess around and shop for a better price, because i've done business with these guys before, and they make the most beautiful paint i've ever seen. I've seen some of the trucks they build (some worth over $100,000!!!!!) and they are jsut awesome. Also, they offer a life time guarantee on their paint, so it's nice having some sort of reassurance that you're getting the best.!!! TThanks for the input, leep it comin!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again guys

For a good paintjob around here it starts at about $2500, that's not including all the body work and door jams ... that's just the average price for starters ... you also said you were getting your kit put on as well so $3000 sounds decent around here, that's without any special hookups or anything ...

I've always wondered what that covers .. will your paint stay shiny for the rest of your life? That's not very smart because it just means nobody will need a paintjob ever again ... We all know paint lasts a lot longer then it does now but if paint were to last forever, it just hurts the autobody industry ...

if only it lasted forever...hehe, naw, what i mean is if it starts to crack or anything, like if there are flaws in the paint in any way, they'll fix them.

In regards to the wet sand and polishing, i just talked to the paint shop, and thye told me i can do it at any time, so as it is right now, i'm going New Formula Red from the S2000, with my kit and everything, then later down the road, i'll give it that show room finish that everyone loves and adores...thanks for all your help...

My car is set for release for March 28th, before the long weekend, so i'll post pics as soon as i get them....

Alright, so i have chosen the final color, it's going to be honda s2000 red with a blue pearl...looks really good. Also, with your advice, i'm having the side skirts molded on...now i'll have to be really careful on driveways....also, i'm shaving the antenna, painting the side moldings and the door handles, and the rear license plate frame...this should look tight....the guy at the auto body place still says that my car will be done by thursday after noon, so, hopefully friday i'll have some pics for you guys!!!!

Thanks for al the help
