Transmission Issue

I have a '95 Maxima w/ 150000 that recently started having reverse issues. Reverse won't work if you on any type of hill or anything. It sounds like its just slipping. Someone told me that it feels like the reverse clutch plates *or something similar considering I have an automatic transmission* are worn down. I was personally thinking of just swapping the transmission w/ another one but I thought I would check and see if anyone had any suggestions. Also, how much does it normally cost for a rebuild on these transmissions?

Tranny is controlled by solenoids. Solenoids from TCU. So some of these problems might also be in electronics; oxidized connectors.
