Just wondering if anyone knows why VW got rid of the little tune that is played when a VW is started. Did they get rid of this or is it just disabled somehow? My sister has a 2001 Cabrio and that plays the tune. Is it just the Jettas that do no play it anymore??

my dad owns a vw repair shop and they deal with all sorts of vw's and he said hes never heard of them playing a tune when u start them up...but it may be exclusively the new cabrios or sumething.

It's not so much a tune but when you start a car, usually there is a warning sound that reminds you to put your seatbelt on. I have friends with previous VW models (91 Golf & 93 Jetta) and I believe that these both play it when they are started. THe "tune" really is just a series of 3 tones played for a few seconds after startup. :silly2:

oh...see i was thinking like an actual tune. But i think i know what ur talking aboot with the seat belt warning tune. IT may not be playing for you because of many reasons. But vw's little accecories they throw in like that tune have a tendancy to break or just stop working...
