If you have to travel that far then you'd be aswell saving the petrol money and spending it on postage so you can order from a website!

Try www.towerhobbies.com, they're U.S. based but I didn't think their post rates were TOO bad and I live in Scotland.

For me, almost all of my modelling needs are satisfied by the web. Just a pity about the postage all the time, but that's life!!

Hello,

I work in inner city melbourne - so basically i get all my model supplies from 1 of 3 places:

Hearns Hobbies - On Flinders street, part of the Station...
Hobby Place - Near Melbourne Central...
Victorian Hobby Center - Upstairs on Swanston street, just past the Commonwealth Bank...not far from Flinders St. Station...

All of the above places have moe than adequate paint supplies for automotive/military modelling.

FYI - I have been buying powerplus automotive lacquers from Autobarn and Duplicolor Automotive Lacquers from K-mart and they work brilliantly as well...lots cheaper - takes a bit of practice through the ol' airbrush tho...not quite perfect yet!

Hope my waffling has been of some assistance...

Regards...
Me.

I was going to suggest those three shops in the City centre too boredsmurf. :) If those shops are too far away (Melbourne is a big place, especially for us country folks! :p), then try the yellow pages for places closer. Making a call to see if they have what you need is quicker and easier than driving over.

If that fails then you could try an automotive paint shop, they can mix up almost any colour for you. Finally, mail order from Japan is a great way to get the paints that are more difficult to find in these parts. Stuff like GSI Creos and Finishers.

Order from HLJ if u can wait for them to get here. It cost to much to buy paints from this place. I bought 1 can of tamiya paint, and it cost $13 AUD.

Hi

I'm now in melbourne studying postgrad design in swinburne prahran.

Well after I did a price research from the three shops in the city, I think hobby palace (aud$9.90) got the cheapest TS paint compare to the other three (more than aud$10). For humbrol paints or tamiya enamel is around aud$2.50 to aud$3 which is quite okay.
