well, am putting a JDM B18C(GSR) into my friends coupe, which had a B16, well I got his skunk2 manifold on and all the necessary crap from the B16 on like clutch and tranny, etc. well I went to hook up the harness and got it all omn and then looked at the 3 end plugs and  they are on opposite sides of the engine bay. tomorrow Im going to untape tham all and pull off all the loom and solder/heat shrink new wiring to extend any wire that needs be as I move plugs from end to end. the person before me had done this iwth the B16 harness but I would be ashamed to ut it back in a car its a horrible hack job, no insulation on it on any splice, wires not even ran inside the loom, some wires form harnes to car just twisted together.. so I am just hoping that even though the plugs are on the worng side, that thats the end of the difference, I assum it would be since cluster is on drivers side(pasenger here, and ECU is on passenger side, but drivers side here so the plugs arew on opposite sides for that purpouse and thats the end of it.

is this the case, is the harness my lat wiring dilemma for this swap?

That should be it. Did you make sure to wire up for the knock sensor and secondary butterfly?

why you gonna put a jdm harness on your teg. always modify your stock harness, i cannot stress this enough, always modify your stock harness. the b16 harness is just there to take plugs off of.

well, his stock harness isnt there, the guy before him put a JDM B16 in and must have modified the JDM harnes to work cuz wires cross each other all over to get where they should go, and it worked, but just looks like shiite and I wouldnt put something so half-a$$ in someones car even if it isnt my own.

so the only 2 options I got s to lean up the JDM B16 harness, or start fresh on the JDM B18 harness. I am probably gonna od obth at the same time since I am gonna need a harness.

so, cickiller, are you saying that for ease or will my modded JDM harness not work?

and I didnt use the stock IM, had him get a skunk2 IM so he could spend his 200 bucks on that rather than 200 on an ecu and keep the stock IM, both harnesses already have the plug for the knock sensor.

guarenteed for ease is one. but i also read somewhere that not all the wires are in the same spots on the shock tower connectors so some thing might not work. idk if its true or not but thats what i heard.

what i say is, do it right the first time and just pick up a new engine harness so its back to stock and just modify the new usdm one for the jdm motor. but thats just me.

well, I unwrapped the whole thing, then used wire and cut plugs off one by one and plugged em in where they go and extended wires to them with solder/heat shrink, and then taped it all back up. took a long time but much better than what it had, and I got the engine in, and it wont start, it turns over, I got spark on all 4 plugs, I got air(took off valve cover and turned it over and all valves open/close, timing looks fine, I got fuel to the fuel rail I know because the guage goes up and uyou can hear it plus the engine has popped more than a few times just never fired up, but the battery was dying so I didnt get much time to try to get it running, batteries on th echarger right now(dad took the 10AMP/50AMP start charger so all I got is this crappy little 3 amp trickle charger) and Ill try again later tonight. I when I got it the plug wires were on like 1-4-3-2. I put the crank pulley at the TDC mark lihned up on the T-cover and then took off the cap, rotor and cap looked fine, and saw where the rotor was pointing and installed the wires 1-3-4-2 like its supposed to be. plugs I pulled out looked kinda bad so I pulled the ones out of his B16, they are irridiums and look WEIRD, never seen one before but is the electrode part that comes out of the ceramic tip normally start at the bas and just cone out to a fine point, they all look the same which is why I think they are like thet normally, are they?

and what fuel pressure does a GSR run normally, his B16 with stock regulator jumped to about 51 when the key was turned on and was about 45 when running and I cranked the adj regulator til when the pump primed the system it jumped to 50 PSI and havent gotten to see where it stays at when running.

hopefully I get it running later cuz I get first drive. Im gonna take it easy though til everythings good for sure, but it shouod still be fun.
