just bought a 1987 924S, love it...absolutely incredible...however, the windshield wipers dont work....
checked the main fuses under the dash, everything seems to be fine...
where should i start for this?
can someone point me to the Relay involved here?
maybe its the motor itself?
or even the contact at the switch itself?
i'm new to this particular car, but i've worked on basic electrical systems before.
thanks a bunch, i've been reading up alot and this seems like a wonderful community of Porsche lovers!

hmm, i'm sorry buy i haven't had a single thing go wrong with the wiring on either of my porsche's! so have no idea which relay it would be.
i'd start by finding the fuse box and putting your hand on each relay in turn while someone turns the wipers on and off. if you can feel one of the relays operating, then there's power to the switch and relay. if not then it could be the fuse, switch, relay or wiring. it's worth pulling the fuse out and checking it with a multimeter, as i've had a couple that look ok, but have blown. then i'd check that there is power getting to the live side of the fuse. assuming you have power and the relay is clicking, then i'd check the voltage across the terminals on the back of the motor.
sorry i couldn't be more helpful! :(
jules.

The motors are a common problem. If not cleaned out regularly the well that the wiper motor is in can fill up with water and short itself out. Check the plug for grungy connections too.

If its dead its dead. You can use a jumper wire and direct wire it to check, but if its dead you'll need to get a new one. If you need a new or used one let me know: [email protected]

I had to change my motor, they comonly fail...it will require a few hours and is not fun, but was glad once I finished since my wipers worked again. I bought mine off of Ebay for like $15 dollars.
