85 t15 jimmy 2.8 timing belt? or chain?

okay well i pressure tested my cooling systm today and found water spewing out the water pump so therefore the pump needs replacement before it blows on me on the hiway and i heard it is a good idea to change the belt/chain at the same time does my car have a timing chain or belt? and where is it? thanks in advance for any info.

You have a chain, it's behind the timing cover which is behind the waterpump..

thanks can anyone tell me when replacing the water pump at 55k miles wicth is before the 60k mile service is it reccomed that i replace the chain as well?

you don't need to replace the water pump at 60k... It's good usually for at least a 100k, the timing chain will last the life of the motor usually unless your rebuilding the motor

thanks that helps alot but i was shocked it was bad myself at only 50-55k miles on the rebuilt moter
