Translab Shift Kit Installation

I am in the process of buying the translab shift kit for my 94 SL. My question is how hard is self installation of this? Do u need to remove the trany completely? If i dont do so myself, how much would i prolly be lookign at for a garage to install it for me? maybe 200 dollars?

That's for a Laser but it looks like you have to just take off the oil pan on the tranny and then the thingy in there (too tired to think)...looks pretty complicated from the pics (i saw a spring being taken out in one of them...that = complicated)...but that's how to install one on that car...i'm sure it's pretty much the same for the 3S. I'd say F that if I were you, SL doesn't seem worth it to me as it once did (I got my hands on the wheel of a VR4 once and it ruined my SL for me)

I installed mine myself, works perfect. Its not an easy installation but its not hard either. I do have some experience with the 3/S platform so thats part of it. A shop probably would charge 250 or so to install it, and thats if you can find someone to install it. Maybe one day i'll find a donor valve body and do installations on the valve body for like 50 bucks.
