89 cavalier drive axle removal

is there a trick to pulling the drive axle away from the transmission.
i've tried pulling it out in gear... in neutral.and i park and it won't come out...if anyones knows how or has any ideas please help!!!!!!!!!!

put a pry bar in between transmission and the cv shaft. It will take some effort but it just pops out
