I just bought some led lights to go under my 99 GP GT. I was wondering if someone could give me some instructions on how to hook em up and mount them.

Thanks.

It depends on the LED kit. It should come with mounting brackets and wiring. Locate the lights in an area where they will not be damaged by going over objects in the road. As far as the wiring you can hook them up by using power direct from the battery and running a power lead to the inside switch or you can run them off a powered source from the fuse block.

You are better off not drilling in to the frame although as long as you drill into the side of the frame member you should be OK. Seal the screws with a little silicone and the holes will not rust. I would put them on the inside of the frame rather than outside if there is enough room. Just don't put them too close to the exhaust.

this might sould dum but i used Zip ties to help hold them up not just screws worked perfect for me except mine arnt working need to redo wireing because im grounding out somewhere so that kind of sucks, so keep that in mind use plastic coating around wire for under the car to help prevent grounding out to metal

Thanks for all the help....but i have another prob. WHere did you put your outlet box (if yours are not wireless) because mine dont seem to reach when the outlet box is by the battery where is says to put it in the instruction

Mount the box on the firewall or the inside of the fender. You can get power from the power distribution box. It is a black box where the fuses and relays are located under the hood. It should be easier to get to and it will give you more options than the battery. The main red lead comes directly from the battery so you will have battery voltage anyway. Hope this helps you install your lights.

I couldnt do that because the kit i have you have to plug them into the outlet box but i think i will try what gtp dad said.

there is also a wire that is called a chinsel wire which is there under the car you just have to locate it that wire is there for a trailer package which im shure you r not going to put a hitch on your ride this chinsel wire is a constant power if you r looking for an alternate power instead of going off the battery
