WOW (C5 vs STI

Ghetto-z

wow, i need an LS1 NOW. i was playing nfsu2 (cause im a gay ricer) when my sister and boyfriend come over, i dont like giving them "free time" when im home, cause thats nasty so i was buggin them, and to get me out of my house he hands me keys to his c5 and says "just fill it up when your done." so i was out the door faster then a popular analogy involving a jackrabbit and stuff. so i get in adjust the seat and listen to it rumble (btw its got built heads, race cam, full borla exaust, cai, and best of all a 100 shot of NO2)
so i pull out of the driveway before he can change his mind, and get on the southern state and go to ocean pkwy just waitin to see something and im about to turn around cause gettin to the end, and i see a blue rocket pass me going the oposite way must have been going 130+ so instantly floor it and shoot the back end out (im only going 15 mph getting ready to turn around) so i straighten it out and take off to catch whatever i saw, so i gun it and catch up to a blue STI down the pkwy and now hes only going like 45 (the speed limit) i get could see that he had a nice looking ti exaust and it looked droped with huge brakes. so i get next to him, open the bottle and hit the arming switch for the NO2 and give it a little gas, just to see his reaction, well he also floored it and gave it almost full throttle (the nitrous is on a WOT switch and i didnt want to waste it if i didnt have to) and because he got the jump (i wasnt expecting him to gun it imeadiatly) my front bumper was at he rear quarter panel and i was slowly inching up, then either he has a really strong powerband or was using nitrous, and started walking me, so im like fuck that and give it full throttle (never juiced before im my life) and i hear the engine wind up, but im slowing down, it feels like the clutch is slipping and im thinking fuck, i broke his car, then i realise that the traction control is on so i get off the gas turn it off then gun it again, he already had few car lenghts, and i hit WOT HOLY SHIT it was a fucking rocket, i flew by the sti and kept on going then at about 140 i shut it down and STI already turned off somewhere, so i go to checkers and had the best chili dog of my life, i returned home with a huge smile on my face. BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!

Yeah considering he posted the same thing twice with a smartass heading the second time I'd say this is a crock. Can we get an IP ban pleeeeeeeaaase :worshippy

you serious? he posted this before? I believe the STI loosing to a modded Vette but I dont believe the guy just handing over his keys to the Vette for some "alone time".
sounds like BS to me, post a picture of your sister bro, I'll tell ya if I'd give you my keys after that.

i pretty much was ready to belive this story.

your sister and boyfriend must really like eachother!
uhm, how many people with a vette need to run nitrous to beat an STi?

C5s aren't that fast.

I think it can take a STI from a roll of 45mph with the mods "Ghetto-z" said it had.

Yeah, this story sounds like it comes straight out of NFSU. Anyhow, he is not burntrice, the IP address is different. However, after looking at his other posts I must say that I am going to keep my eye on him.

If this thread gets out of hand it gets closed.

i stock c5 would take a sti on the highway, this sounds like bs to me espcially with the mods he listed, the only thing that makes it seem true is the part about the traction control, bc i have the same thing, if you gun it hard enough to break the tires loos with the tc on, it will push the gas pedal back up against your foot, Ive done that before in a race and had to go again.

My car can slide out alil with traction control on, but it takes alot more then 15mph.

Well, your car is like a fat teenager riding his little sisters bike down a steep hill. You try to stop that fatass with a weak little brake it's just gonna keep going.

Traction Control is for wussies.:p

yea, sometimes I forget that traction control is on because everytime you turn on the car, its automatically put on. BTW, is that pewter or sebring silver?

The only traction control I need is my left foot :smokin: J/K thats about the most overused line ever, I just wanted to be the first one to say it. Amyways My second opinion is that this kid got confused because that he was playing nfsu2 for so long that he thought it was real. He woke up the next morning with a story to tell.

no its not amazingly faster than those you picked, but faster indeed
it both, runs the 1320 just as fast or faster then those mentioned above and has a top speed above them all.
(i'm not saying your wrong, because your right its not THAT fast compared to those cars, but faster indeed)

My bullshit detector just broke - it got full.

I don't have time to go into the details right here, but there are a LOT of things you will have to prove (with pics, with you in it flipping AF off), especially with such an extreme story.

02-18-2005, 11:18 AM
yea i can get the back end out with the tc on too, but only for a second or 2 before it kicks on. he told the story as if he had to let off to keep the back end straight, he wouldnt have to do that with the tc on

kfoote
02-18-2005, 01:10 PM
First off, I agree this story is BS.

However, having driven both on track, with the C5 being a 1998 only with the 345 HP engine, that with the TC off, it will get wheelspin at 15 MPH. It will also get wheelspin at full throttle at 110 MPH in 4th gear in the rain with the TC off with well worn Hoosier RS303's. The C5 does have better acceleeration from a roll than the STi does, and the basis of the story (except for someone handing off the keys to a $50k car randomly) is believable, but the original poster just needs to be a better storyteller. The only advantages the STi has over the C5 are initial launch from a stop, better gearing, better in slick conditions, and better brakes.

your right, it begins to get loose and then you feel the tc come on and lock everything up

Yeah, maybe I am giving the C5 too little credit. But once you see so many covertible, automatic, 2.73 geared C5s run 14.5s..you kind of lose respect for them.

Here's an A4 C5 vert slip for you. He was running D/Rs as his only mod.

I threw in the Z06s slip for comparisons sake.

2.73 geared, all stock minus the drag radials. That 2.079 60' wasn't even all that great.

At home, I see C5s every damned day. Thats one of the reasons I want an ///M3. Sure, it costs hella more than a Vette, and it may not be as fast, but christ, at least you dont see 15 on the way to work...
