Traction Control Problem

Can someone Help ME
When I start my car everything seems fine, once I begin to drink the traction control kicks in ( back driver side ) I then get a message to check traction control. It this a very serious and how much am i looking spend to fix it. Can there be a simple answer.

It is a smooth dry surface -- this has been going on for one week!!

did you notice any unusually noises from the rear end prior to this happening.
