Stereo upgrade

Howdy, i've got a '97 Blazer LT and i've got a couple of speakers rattleing and my pass. rear speaker works intermitently. I have done a couple of stereo swaps before so i'm not a newbie at this but I was wondering how hard it would be to swap the speakers out. Do the door panels have to be removed to replace them. Or is this something I should take to a pro.

Hey I have a 97 blazer 2 door. I just put in an after market mp3 player in the dash that was super easy. Took no time at all. Next I gonna do the speaker and I talked to the guy car audio at Best Buy and he told me that it was a huge job. He wouldnt give me anymore then that. So far I cant figure out how to get the rear panels off. LEt me know if you find out how.

To replace the speakers in the front and rear doors, the door trim panels will have to be removed. The rear speakers are screwed onto a plastic housing. Chances are that the new speakers won't line up with the orginal screw holes, so new holes will have to be drilled.

To remove the rear door trim panels, first lower glass all the way down. If you have manual windows, remove the crank handle. Otherwise, remove the window switch. In the arm rest area, there is a small cover plate about 1/2" X 3". Pop this off because under it are two screws, need 9/32" or 7mm socket. Behind the door release handle, there is a trim plate with the lock slider and ash tray. Remove the plastic phillips screw and screw retainer. Carefully from the handle opening hole, pry the plate off, its held on with a strip of sticky tape. Now the trim around the handle can be removed by prying off the top edge which will release the lower edge. Now, pull the door trim panel straight up. While you're pulling up, you might have to give the top edge a few taps with your hand to release the upper retaining clips. Now you can get to the speakers.

redneck tech what brand of player did you install, and was it a full size din or smaller than the stock unit. I have been wanting to get mp3 in mine. Thanks

I'm leaving the stock cd player in, i'm just changing the speaker's. Anybody know of a brand that sounds good but won't cost an arm and a leg.

i have the Alpine S class in mine i dont know if you have a American TV store around you but i paid 90 bucks a pair for 5X9's
