Odd stalling on 2001 Accord (4 cyl)

I've had a odd problem with my car (2001 Accord, 4 cyl, manual trans) for a while (2-3 years) that happens 3 or 4 times a year.
When I'm driving, I'll put the clutch in if I'm coasting to a stop or slowing down on the freeway. The engine will be between 2000 and 3000 rpms and then the engine will slow down and then stall. I'll turn the ignition and it will start up again.
It's happened to me when the engine is cold, when it's hot, on the freeway, on city streets, AC is on, AC is off. I can't find a pattern or a way to trigger the problem at will.
Strangely enough, I was visiting my wifes family a month ago and her sister has a 2002 Accord, 4 cyl, automatic and it does the same thing as my car, but more frequently. She doesn't take good care of her car compared to mine.
If someone else out there has run across this before, I would like to know how they solved it.
Thanks.
