you will just need the new grill as I stated in my previous post.

Yes, you will need the composite wiring harness seeing it uses a different bulb setup than the sealed beam units.

I have never done it.

He will need core support as well. The core supports aren't the same due to the headlight mounting brackets on the composite lights... HE needs the following

Grille
Core Support
Composite light housings with brackets
Filler panel (where grille meets core support)

We just did the conversion with Nater06 Sunday evening. He drove out from Ohio. Took us 3 hours...(front body mount bolts were corroded).

I can most certainly say the core supports are different for the headlights

Ryan, I was being facetious..... Just go to www.car-part.com to get your parts... Call Wagner's truck and van parts in Harmony Pa. They will have the lights, core supports and grille...(they're a wrecking yard, as of friday they had tons of them because they have so many s10's. blazers, etc... Call 411 for the number. The lights will run you about 75 a piece, the core support about a 100-125, the grille will be about 75-100, Optionally you can call New Castle Autowrecking in New Castle Pa., ask for Adam, it will run you about the same there.

rlith
02-17-2005, 07:56 PM
If you're ordering off of ebay, you need to make sure that's not the core support you already have and that it's the one to support composite headlight assemblies

ryanb4614
02-17-2005, 08:10 PM
yeah i know and i need the housing brackets or do u think that will come with everything? Im not 100% of buying off ebay still surfing the net to see if theres any better prices.

rlith
02-17-2005, 08:51 PM
depends on where you get it from

ryanb4614
02-18-2005, 09:32 AM
Looking, i was looking in my blazer at the core support thats in there now, there is this hose "black" i think theres wires in it come from a hole by the headlight out to the front across to the other headlight, what is it? could see where it ends to..

rlith
02-18-2005, 11:34 AM
It's not a hose, that's your wiring harness. You need to 1st disconnect it behind the ABS unit, then feed it out as you're pulling the core support.

ryanb4614
02-18-2005, 12:44 PM
do u think this gives it a different look?

looks like a brushguard over recessed headlights...Shrugl... It's what's asthetically pleasing to you and weather or not you just want the brushguard or want both the brushguard and the composite lights

ryanb4614
02-18-2005, 04:00 PM
see the whole thing is, I just dont like the look of the recessed lights if there is something to give them a little different look, or hide them, a easier way/ cheap for now thats the route i want to go. I was looking and the clear covers for them there have a little gloss finish.

02-18-2005, 04:18 PM
Ryan, no offense, but how long are you going to hem and haw over this. You know what your choices are, you know what has to be done for each choice... Just make a choice already..

If so get the Core Support (http://www.fastbodyparts.com/cgi-bin/fast/index.html?make=CHEVROLET&model=BLAZER%20S10&year=1998&cat=25 ) and Grill (http://www.fastbodyparts.com/cgi-bin/fast/index.html?make=CHEVROLET&model=BLAZER%20S10&year=1998&cat=7) from http://www.fastbodyparts.com

Yes, 98+ bolts up fine... You need the core support, grille, lights, parking light/blinker assembly..

Here's my 95 with a 98+ front end...

How much was that big ass brush guard? I like the set up you got. I'm gonna put some big lights on the front of mine, with the hidden "all on" switch too. In the winter all the damn yankees come to Florida and appearently where they're from they don't have laws about dimming their lights when approaching another vehicle. I'm also planning on fabricating a light bar on top to mount 4-100 watt KC lights. :) click "I'm blind I'm blind"

Hell, when I had it at the dealer the other week for the fuel pump (I wasn't dropping a full tank on my own and it was a monday) The tech looked at my truck and wondered why it said 95 on the work order, he thought it was a 98+ LOL... Actually my 2 best interior mods lately have been the 98+ steering wheel and the seat heaters...:D Got most of my new rear (g80 3:42 with disc) sanded, prepped, w/ new rotors and pads. Just need to finish throwing a couple of rustolium on it. Cleaned up everything really nicely. Then the last thing to go in is the 5.7 v8 I pulled from a 99 escalade.... Already did the new cam work on it, www.rcsoa.com (check out their engines) will be doing the programming on the ecm for the fuel curves...(Well, and mebbe a 5" trailmaster lift)

Those engines on the front page are bad ass.

Can't blame the guy for being confused it looks just like a 98+ on the outside. About the steering wheel, my 98 has the same wheel as the one you took out of yours, has mine been replaced or did they have both in 98.

Watch that g80... they try to swap ends when you get on it.

I made a mistake on the steering wheel years... The new style came out in 99...(oops) I've almost got the wiring done for the steering wheel controls... Preliminary tests using the internal remote battery seems to work well... I want to hard wire the power using a 450 ohm resistor inline hot wired to the horn power inside the steering wheel so I don't have to pop the airbag every year when the battery dies....
