I get pretty bored when there are no new posts or anything interesting here for a while. So, I thought I'd make this thread where we could put our random thoughts an ideas about car audio. What's your DREAM system, an in what car etc... I dunno, something to post stuff when your bored.

Hmmm i want a crapper to amaze the monkey shit out of people.
Perhaps a suburban. 8 of RE's new super subs. in TL enclosures. just enough power for all to reach 4" P2P. tuned to 20Hz. 1/2 wave length TL's. just a driver and passenger seat. pull up to a traffic light. throw a bass truck with a real hard 20Hz hit. roll up the windoww, put on some ear muffs.....











And let the windsheild shaddering begin...

That or some of them in 6th order bandpass enclsorues all tuned to around 25Hz. lol. i am going to be the first person to colapse my lungs while making an SPL vehicle using test tones near infrasonic levels...

HMMM all this talk about the new RE sub makes me wonder whats gonna happen to the XXX in the near future...

i think they will keep the XXX. the new sub from RE is like an extreme SPL sub with SQ simply because it has XBL^2. the MT is SPL only and the XXX is their top of hte line SQ sub. the XXX was never ment to make SPL. neither was the brahma. that was a side effect. they where ment to get loud and sound great but not hit mid 140's daily, that was a side effect of great engineering. 3 XBL^2 subs and 4 non XBL^2

Won't happen, you need MORE and MORE power and displacement/cone area to get loud at lower frequencies, so no broken glass. I mean...Scottie's van has stock glass...12 MT 12's and 134k watts. Second of all, the re8's are physically INCAPABLE of 4" of movement... period. I doubt they more too much over 2-2.5" P2P.

Oh, and mine would probably be...

Alpine #F1 Status Head Unit and Processing. I'd go with Koda 8's or Extremis, ported and glassed in the doors. Then I'd use some CSS 4.5" xbl^2 drivers for mids/highs, and I'd add some Vifa tweeters for the tip-top highs. (Or maybe I'd go with ID horns, dual 31band EQ's and xovers) As far as subs, I'd go with two 12" brahma's or two 12's of the NEW XXX :) ported tuned to 28hz. Amps, I'd prolly look at Zapco, Arc, McIntosh, etc.

That'd be my SQ setup, I'd go in a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado 4 door.

As far as SPL. I'd go with an astro van obviously! I'd prolly go with 12 12" dual.5 Warden's (quad triple stiff spiders) and 48 20.1's strapped @.5ohms. Batteries would be Kinetic Energies. hehe

P.S. I'm doing DIY components for myself soon anyways, I'm using two Extremis 6" mids, and sending them off to Madisound to design custom passive xovers and be paired with Vifa 1" textile dome neodymium tweeters! So, those will be in the works soon!

Dream system..... take out my rear seats port 3 brahma 15's @ 26hz 4 koda 8's each crossed over to and extremis 6.5 then some pimp ass tweets. tru tech h1 on each brahma. brax or tru amps for the comps..... Some pimp ass alpine DVD/CD/Mp3 screen ordeal and defaintely Mucho stickers to rep my shit and neons to make everything look cool. I was just watchin 'Cribs' RIDES edition or someshit. That guy who plays O dawg in Menace 2 Society was showin his system in his Yukon or something. Pops the trunk an its like 3 or 4 inverted Audiobahns that dont really look like even their top of the line models, and Audiobahn amps. He said his system cost him 20k! I say he got screwed over by like 15 G's

i'd put 2 different systems in the same car, not going to be the loudest system you ever heard, but this is what i'd want.. the system would be "swappable" i'd have 2X of every part of my system, which would stop me from getting bored liek i do with everything i buy for my system

so system 1 would be..
alpine f#1 status hu + top of the line alpine screen + alpine processing
CDT es 3 ways
2 or 3 of those alpine type x subs
tru tech amps all around

#2 would be the pioneer dexp9/deqp9 combo + avic n1 just for fun
focal utopia speakers running off mcintosh amps
a bunch of brahmas running off zapco amps

i always wanted to run multiple hu's even in my setup now, but im not sure how it would work, but in my "dream" system the parts would be instantly swappable with the flick of a switch or something, heh dunos just something to think about
