Me and my brother were thinking of places to run around where he lives. He has a 91 Taurus SHO 5 spd and wants to run my 82 camaro Z28 with mild bolt ons.
He wont drive to my house since i live in a small town a little out of his way. But where he lives cops are crawling.
Well he has some friends at wal-mart and they frequently race behind there after they get off of work. Managers turn their nose to it and every now and then you can see one out. some of the guys there have measured off the 1 /4 and you can race down and back.

Im thinking of going out one night this weeledn to see whats going on.
Has anyone heard of this before? Just thought it may give some people an idea of where to get away.

Sounds like some kind of White Trash idea...racing behind Walmart..pfft :disappoin

J/P. Actually at the Walmart here in S-ville there's a long road beside it. Cops hardly ever journey down there. And I mean almost hardly ever. Some kids go there late at night and park in the parking lot there and watch some races. Doesn't happen to often because they don't want to get busted. Ooops :uhoh: too late, my bad. L8...

I've allways thought about doing the 1/4 in a parking lot since geting busted for tresspassing is better than for street racing. Too bad there are few parking lots around that are big enough and deserted enough to try it.

When I worked at the pet store we raced a few times behind it. Worked out pretty well too since the owner didn't care so we couldn't even get in trouble for tresspassing.

ahahah i've raced at a hugh parking lot before. i was racing a RX-7 TT that my friend knows. i won't tell you the results though cause he blew his clutch racing me. but he got me off the line, and pulled alittle on me slowly until he blew his clutch and thats when i caught right back up. yeah it was fun, and that parking lot was hugh.

The only thing I have ever done in a parking lot is a couple donuts. Then I took off pretty quick because I was paranoid.

We have really small parking lots due to a really small town. Its much easier to just go out to an abandoned road here.

The mall parking lot where i live was paved not too long ago, and the way they sealed it, it is VERY slippery. You can break traction from a roll at like 1/3 throttle. Anyway... One night a while back, in the rain, i got my Silverado to 100 mph in about a 35 foot distance. =] I slammed on the gas on the wet pavement and just let the tries spin in place. My truck just inched forward as my speedometer climbed rapidly. My foot was not on the break at all. Suprisingly, there was very little smoke.

I guess you just told the results then didn't you? :p L8...

AFAIK, all Wal Mart have video cameras on the roof.

... besides that, there is probably another 300 reasons that is a bad idea.

I have a 1/4 mile suggestion. Try the drag strip. It's already measured to be exactly a 1/4 mile (plus braking distance too, of course). It's legal. You get a time slip. Blah blah blah. God damn cops trying to set up races behind wal mart. WTF.

the only parking lot big enough to do anything here isn't flat enough to be safe at 100 mph or even 50mph for that matter , its designed to get rid of water pretty quickly down drains and is probably 20ft. or 30ft higher on one side of the lot than the store side

Actually its rural enough around here that me and a friend have acutally used a 330' measuring tape and measured off 1320's in three different locations.
