JDM Headlight swap...

Jason, there was no need to lock that thread, as it wasnt a flame war. it was just two strong opinioned people debating...
anyway... George what i'm saying is... if the headlights do shine more to the oncoming traffic, it is still on the ground. what does it matter if the GROUND on the opposing traffic has more light??
last I checked low beams point down at the ground, not up at people. do our stock headlights aim up on our passenger side and "blind" pedestrians on the sidewalks??
and i'm not "purposefully blinding oncoming drivers" its not like i'm driving with high beams on. low beams point down and light the roadway. i will however look into the issue when i get the lights installed. if it is an issue i will look into adjusting the angle of the beams. i wouldnt want to piss anyone off when we have a national G20.net meet some day... :D

what argument war??? on which thread???
anyway, for those that are interested in getting the JDM headlights (square-dual projectors) keep in mind that the wiring harness for the bulbs will be COMPLETELY different...it wouldn't matter that much if you are going with HID but if you gonna stick with your factory headlight harness and connectors....u would have to be creative and do something about it. Dont ask me for the JDM headlight harness because i am not gonna go through the trouble on finding those.

No offence to either of you guys but I've seen, and been part of, two strongly opinionated people debating. I looked to me like it was getting or going to get ugly or taken too far. I'm experienced with George debates, it's pretty easy to think you always need to defend yourself... ;) I'm not sure if it would have carried on, but I wasn't about to find out.

Simple test: drive up to a wall in the dark with your lights on. The pattern of light on the wall is not a horisontal line, it's more like an "L" on it's longer side with the vertical line inclined to the right. Now imagine the mirrored image... where will that "short side of "L"" (sort of vertical) point? Right into the eyes of the oncoming traffic!!! It is there so that you can see road signs at night There is nothing you can do with it by adjusting the angle! As I've mentioned, if you want me to, I can research the possibility of getting European lights for you (if they are available)

ales, most lights (like my stock ones) have adjustment screws which enable how much the light bulb is pointed at the ground. i'm sure the JDM lights will probably have this too. i'll adjust it so that the drivers side points down some more...
jason, ouch... thats not good.

b-bOOgie (isn't that what you pull out of your nose?) ;)
Don't get mad, I'm just messing with you. :D Hehe.
Seriously....
ales is correct. Now I see why we hadn the problem.
USDM lights are mostly CRAP. The only exception I've seen is the 93/94 Sentra lights. They rock. Wish I could put them on my 91 SE-R. Anyway.....
The JDM or NZDM lights will have a patter like this:
|\______
|_______|
The angle isn't quite right, but the light will angle up on the left side of the road, right into the eyes of on coming traffic.
In countries with RHD, this angled light will light up road signs. It's actually really cool.
So, you might want to see if ales can get them for you in Europe for LHD! THAT would be cool.
ales, do you know if this style of light is available for the P10 in Europe?
And b-bOOgie, seriously dude, I was just messing with ya about your knick. :D
