If you pull the fuse that goes to the "check engine light" and then drive it, can that cause any probelms? Someone told me that this can make the car go into "limp mode" and run rich causing problems in things such as the CAT. Is this true?

I don't know that you can pull any fuse that controls the check engine light on a '99 & still have the engine run.

Yeah... Well I found out that it does run... Someone had pulled it before I bought the car. Most likely the most disho0nest people I have ever met. The Dealership!!! Could this have caused any kind of damage?

Driving with the light on can damage certain things, primarily the catalytic converter.

Hince the reason my car is in the shop waiting for one right now... Those damn things are expensive!! $995 from the dealer. $595 refurbished. Damn CA smog wouldn't allow me to buy a aftermarket one. They don't make them for OBD-II systems.
By pulling that fuse would that alone cause anything to happen? The MAF caused the cat to go bad, but would that fuse itself cause anything to happen?
