idle problem plz help

I found what the problem was with my car(87 iroc 305 tpi) and it was the plugs. They were fouled out. So i replaced those with bosch platnium 4 some msd wires and accel distributor cap, and it starts up fine. The problem is that it won't idle at low rpm not even 1000! If i tweak the idle screw up to about 2500 it stays idling but i burn up all my gas, my brakes need to get changed, so when i'm at a stop light she wants to take off. Say i put the idle for park at 1500, she sounds like she choking, put stays idling, and you know when you shift to drive the rpms drop a bit like there suppose to but it just shuts off. Sniff Sniff. but anyways any suggestions?

or it could be the computer. my dad had an 84 corvette that did the same thing, it was the computer.

i had the same problem and it was the computer. i would check for error codes first, and if you don't get any then it's probably the computer. if you do, then replace the sensor that the code refers to.

Is a replacement computer expensive? Where can i look on the web to find 1? I checked autozone.com for a MAS and it's $150. Not to be kissing a$$ or anything but i just wanna thank everyone for there help when i ask questions and what not. You people are like family. I appreciate it. Does anyone live in the boston area, or shit, even massachusetts, it would be cool to meet another camaro owner. There are no maros where i live, NONE!! Sorry for being off topic, but back to topic, how much does the ecm cost?
