Plastic cover

1996 Riv. How do I remove the plastic motor cover, with out breaking the oil filler port in the valve cover?

take the oil filler cap off, but instead of pulling when it's time to pull, keep loosening. The filler neck is attatched to the valve cover in the same way that the cap is to the filler.
