How do you open the hood latchj w/o the cable assembly inside the van?

If the cable is broken, maybe you can fish the cable out through the grill and un-latch the hood.

That would be great "but" the cable is not there at all. What I need is how to open the latch from the outside! Argh! :)
Then I can repair the @(*$$&(# thing! :)

Evidently the cable has broken at the latch mechanism....The cable is normally attached to a lever on the latch. If you can't get your hand through the grill: You will have to use something strong like a piece of coat hanger wire to form a loop and snag the lever pulling it back toward the L/H front wheel (driver's side). to unlatch. When it is unlatched, you will still have to trip the safety catch to open the hood.
