Buying an extended warranty from another company and not dealership

I have a 2002 T&C with 34,000 miles on it. The factory warranty will be running out soon (expires @ 36,000 miles) and I want to get an extended warranty. The Chrysler dealership offers an extended warranty for $1,823, but Warranty Activation Headquarters, a company in St. Louis, Missouri, offers an extended warranty that covers more for $1,600 and it is for a year longer or 5,000 miles more than Chrysler offers. Has anyone out there ever purchased an extended warranty from this type of company? If so, please let me know of your experience with that. Did you have any problems with all mechanic and/or service depts. honoring the warranty? Thanks!

extended warranties are good; just make sure you keep a record of the type of warranty you have at all times and most of the times, they work w/ any shop you go to either an independent shop or a Chrysler dealer.

[your best bet would be to buy chrysler warranty i have dealt with these aftermarket warrenties and they are a hassel you are bying from
an insurance company and you know them they will go to any extent to avoid paying a claim where as chrysler it is put through right away no waiting for approval from the insurance to see if it will be covered or not
i have sen these insurances tie upyour vehicle for a week at a time to send appraisers to look at the vehicle in question and then depends on their moods will determine if it is covered. This is my 2 cents
