AEM tru-power pulleys

I am considering this as my next upgrade. Seems easy enough to do, and I've read some good things about them. Particulary, an article that installed them on a 1999 civic EX vtec, and dyno'd them in comparison to the stock. There was a gain of 1-3 horse power. For 150 bucks thats not bad in my opinion. The same article also stated that the car seemd to rev more eagerly and develope more power in top rpms. The only thing that has me a bit concerned is the fact that I'm running a decently heavy sound system and one of those pulleys replaces the alternator pulley. My system draws about 500 watts rms power. Any of you have experience with installing underdrive pulleys? and especially with sound systems?

or just get a decent capacitor

i had the same problem, but i bought unorthodox pullies. i have a 650 watt system with an audiobahn capacitor, alterstart 135 amp alternator, and an optima yellow top. with all this my lights still dim when downshifting. my advice to you is to keep the stock altenator pulley on but get unorthodox 12 volt crank pulley and power steering pulley. I had to make a sacrafice no loud music on idle or city driving.
