Anti Lock Break Light

recently my anti lock break light came on, but when i turn my car off the light goes away until after the car warms up. and when its rainy or wet out side i can drive for almost an hour before it comes on. ive also noticed a grinding sound coming from the breaks. not every time, but once every 3-4 days. any clues as to what it could be? and maybe an estimate at repair costs? thanx in advance.

The amber ABS dash light will inform you of system status. If the light is flashing, the controller has detected a fault but is still allowing the ABS system to operate or at reduced efficiency. If the light is on constantly (no flash) the controller has detected a fault and disabled part or all of the ABS system. The front and rear wheel portions maybe individually disabled by the controller. The amber warning light refers only to the ABS system which could indicate conditions damaging to the ABS system, such as from something minor as low fluid to something more serious. If your brakes are grinding chances are you might need to have your brakes replace, but it would a good thing to have your car check.
