Wiring or ECU problem

It seems that now and again everytime i pull the key from the ignition my blower fan will still run... my running headlights will remain on.. and when i open the door the car will beep indicating that the key is left in the ignition when it is really in my hand... i'm wonder if one of the other units around the ECU is an Ignition unit.. and should it be replaced? Or maybe it is the actual ignition that is creating the problem.
Thanks for your time!

a K&N intake filter.
elmerfudd: i think your ignition switch is bad. the headlights staying on and stuff wouldn't have anything to do with the ecu as it controls the engine. try replacing your ignition switch and that should fix your problem.

You should test the ignition switch continuity before you just replace it. Go buy a cheap multi-meter, and a haynes repair manual and you might save your self some money in the long run. :iceslolan

The ignition switch eh! Sorry for my ignorance... but what exactly is the ignition switch? is that the actual ignition where the key goes in? or is there more to it? Thanks for your replies!

that's basically what it is. it's a unit that controls power to almost anything in the car by turning the key to different points.

Do your self a favor and go get the repair manual, it's only $20 and it even has pictures. It will tell you almost anything you want to know.

Chilton makes a great manual for our cars. I always seem to be using it for some thing or another.
