Is this the only problem, no driveability symptoms? If there are no other problems, I would look for a vacuum leak....PCV valve stuck etc.

Also, are the 'Air Filter Housing', the 'Resonance Chamber' and all pipes and clamps installed and all sealed or tightened? Is the connector to the VAF (vane air flow meter) nice and tight? Is the VAF free to move?
I've seen your symptom with a large tear in the bottom (so hard to see) of the large air pipe going between the resonance chamber and the throttle body. Some gray tape cured the problem.
The VAF wasn't moving much so the EEC turned off the ignition modual because of low air.
Your car also has a diagnostic test connector located in the engine compartment. Buy yourself a test lamp and a Haynes book for your car and test it yourself. The codes will probably tell you where to check first.
