I have a 1992 Grand Prix LE 3.1L...i bought the car wen i had about 186000KM now its at 208000KM, and about 2 months ago its been making a whinning noise...it doesnt make a whinning noise wen its cold, but say ive been driving for about 20 minutes and everythings warmed up, then i starts making the noise, not loud, but its still there...at first i thought i was the engine, but thats not the case. i think its coming from the transmission. Now heres the thing, nothings wrong with it. It shifts fine anytime, downshifts when it needs to and accelerates like it always does, just now for the past 2 months its making the whinning noise.. the fluid is topped off, and its not leaking any fluid, so i have no idea wats the cause of the noise. If anyone can help me i would really appreciate it... my emails [email protected] thanx

Isn't the transmission the same as the engine? If your transmission goes then say buh bye to 3 grand or your car

Take it to a transmission specialist - have it checked out. It can't be more than a few (as compared to a replaced tranny) dollars. Sometimes it could be simply wear and tear on the car that may require the replacement of seals and/or gaskets, still a small price compared to a replaced tranny -
which is not, BTW, the same as the engine.
