When I give get my car above 2k I can hear a ticking/tapping sound from my engine. Its not that loud but is it my main bearing? If so is their anything I can do to kinda help it for the mean time?

could be a couple things...could just simply be lifter tick (almost all dsm's have it)....or it *could* be a much more serious problem, but doubtful it is, considering if it were this problem, your motor probably isn't running right now. it could possibly be the crank angle sensor rubbing on the crank plate, which is usually the last sign of CW you'll get before the motor is useless. if it IS this problem, then replacing the main bearing probably isn't going to do shit. you'll need to rebuild the block or get a new one....or just a whole new motor.

oh, you said it's not that loud?....probably isn't the crank sensor then...cause i know when my crank sensor was rubbing the on the plate, it happened out of nowhere, and was much louder than lifter tap...3 miles down the road, motor was gone.

you can't check main bearings without tearing down the whole engine but you can check rod bearings. just pull off the rod caps and check them all and torque then back on.

does it tick all the time above 2k or just under power above 2k? if it's a main bearing, it would tick under power because of the pressure on the crankshaft. it could maybe just be piston slap from worn rings or maybe a rod bearing on its way out. either way, anything from the block will require a re-build.
