alright ppl I got a 4th gen lude and about 700-800 dollars to spend. I am looking for some quick hp gains, and i know cheap and hp dont go together, i also know for about 500 i could get a nice 75 shot of nitrous but its illegal where im at. I already have plugs wires from nology, AEM CAI and a cat back system. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
P.S. if u could post anyy specific brands or expected hp and/or torque gains from ur mods plz post

I could be wrong, so anyone feel free to chime in. With $800 I think I'd get cam gears, maybe some things for your fuel setup, and maybe depending on your future plans, a VAFC and a dyno tune. I think that's what I plan on doing, so if anyone else has a better plan, let me know as well as unknownluder.

With that amount of money you're better off trying to free up the hp you've already got, like with underdrive pulleys or a lightweight flywheel.
Cam gears and a fuel system upgrade don't do much by themselves, you get better gains from them if you've upgraded your cams or internals.

i was personally thinking some cams and lifters, lightweight flywheel, and i dont want headers and i heard that pulleys can sometimes f up ur car, i want to later get a turbo so for now im trying to get stuff that will help let me run higher psi but not take money away from the turbo ( i.e. getting headers would be a waste of money b/c for a turbo u dont need them.) thanks for your inputs. do u have any type of expected gains from these or any companies i should go with?

For starters, I'd buy a K&N air filter.. Cheap and gets you more gain per dollar than any CAI will.
Then i'd buy 15" rota wheels or something equally as lightweight for the money. Since you are buying them the same size, you can use the tires you have. Prelude wheels weigh something like 22lbs a piece? Compare that to rotas 15lbs(?).. Less rotational mass = more usable power.
After that, you should have about 150 dollars left if you spend your money in the right places.
Also, if you don't have suspension yet, that's what I'd get first out of all. 800 dollars should net you a nice set of shocks and springs. Check the classifieds.

yea i have an aftermarket suspension upgrade all around. i have 17"enkeis with toyos on them which have lately pissed me off, but for 700 dollars i would guesstimate that i could get around a 40hp gain from some minor upgrades that will help eventually when it cums time for my turbo

i think 40hp is a little unrealistic for just 700$ ...please explain

for $700 you can get big rear wing for your back. your aerodynamic will improve and so for sure youll gain some few horsepower. :evillol: :) :icon16: :smokin:  :cwm27:

yes get the biggest flashiest ajustable wing you can so your front wheel drive prelude has as much rear downforce as possible, lol

If you're willing to stretch your budget a bit, but aren't ready to prep up for a turbo kit or are planning to stay N/A. An SMSP header and a 2.5" catback have dyno proven gains of ~22whp.

i already have a cat back system and headers would just take money away from my turbo acount. wat about a new ignition system, cam gears, camshafts, and lifters? i know this will be a little more than 700 but i am willing to save a lil extra

If you're prepping your engine for a turbo there's a whole bunch of stuff for under $700 you should upgrade - cam gears, valve train (valve springs/retainers), clutch, flywheel, ECU, FPR etc...
Some of these mods will give you gains right away, some won't until you've upgraded to turbo. None of them by themselves will give you huge gains, but all of them you will need eventually if you do go turbo.
I read somewhere that the stock ignition system on a Prelude is good for around 600 hp, so I wouldn't worry about upgrading that unless your gonna boost 25lbs!
Clutch and flywheel upgrade will give you the most noticable gains for under $700 IMO.

This is just a friendly advize.. i think you shouldn't mod your car cus you'll probly regret it later..if i were you, i'll keep it stock and save your dollar for future repair and maintenance.

or maybe some people can afford to mod their car AND pay for repair/maintenance.
