Goals?

So yeah, just thought I'd start another thread to see where everyone is planning on going with their 3/Ss. This applies to everyone, stock, modded, NA, TT, FWD TT, whatever. Essentially, most people have their mod list in their sigs, and throughout other threads, everyone at one point or another has written out their $40k dream wishlist, and I'm sure quite a few of us would love a 10sec 3/S...but honestly what do you see your realistic attainable goals are in the next few years? Whether you want to stay entirely stock and just get that perfect 1/4 run, or reach 300k miles, or whether it be specific upgrades/hp goals/ quarter mile times/records/etc


I guess I'll start. My wishlist is about as costly as my student loans...but realistically, I will not be satisfied until I get Dr-650s. Originally I wanted 15Gs, but in the past 6 months I've decided I don't want to get the 15Gs and then decide I still want something faster. So the goal is DR650s, supporting mods, probably dsm sidemount intercoolers, 400+AWHP, and to break into the 11s. It doesn't have to hit low 11s, it doesn't have to hit 25+psi. I just want to be able to hold 20psi to redline, and have a dominating street car (capable of accelerating fast enough to put passenger into cardiac arrest). I can't say I'll stop once I reach this point, but that is what my aim for the next few years is.

First I need to actually buy the VR4 I want. The seller asked me today what I would do and I said that I want to get intake, test pipe (and gut precats), EBC, downpipe, and borla this summer. I'll see if I fell like I want to go further then. I still have the Silvanya's I got for the SL so those will go in also, I might get HIDs later on if I can justify the expense.

My goals realistically for Boo:
1. Intake (yeah, I know...I'm behind but I'm soooo broke :()
2. Exhaust system (VR4 or Borla but I want the stock 2 tip look)
3. Super Charger
4. Polished stuff (I read the thread that talked about gaining hp from having certain parts polished and will look into that some more when the time comes)
5. Etc.
Basically, I wanna get Boo to 300hp and I will probably be happy with that (if it's even possible to do that without a TT conversion). Aside from performance stuff, I want to detail her too:
1. Interior (I'm thinking of going all black in the inside)
2. Engine (my theme will be blue and polished chrome stuff)
3. Rims (18 inch)
4. Paint job (same color-Danube Blue Pearl Metallic)
5. New sound system (new deck, speakers, and two 10 or 12 inch subs in the back)
Ahh....will the day ever come? :p

Well first i'm going to sell my SL by springtime...then buy a VR4 shortly thereafter. Hopefully i'll find a 2nd gen...if I do i'll:

1. Buy the hoop or 99 VR4 spoiler (if not already there)
2. 18" or 19" 5 star thin spoke chrome rims
3. Clear corners
4. 2.5" drop front and rear (depending on the effect of the rims)
5. chrome y-pipe/valve cover/intake manifold
6. engine dress up kit matching the color of the car (wires, vacuum lines, hoses, etc.)
7. 20% window tint black
8. System/Xbox w/ Tv mounted somewhere inside
9. Maybe some fart tips (I really want a Ferrari 360 Modena sound)
10. Good alarm system.
11. Loud ass BOV

The stock performance is enough for me pretty much, just want it to look and sound sick (I already think the speed is sick). I think I could get all that done over the summer pretty easy (if nothing breaks).

i want to get my car running in pristine condition first. i've done just about everything maintenance-wise, but i still wanna replace the plugs and wires. also, i wanna upgrade to the 3rd gen lifters to get rid of that awful tick. i've already started with suspension upgrades (sway bars) and i'd like to continue with strut bar(s), springs (maybe), and get some new shocks. Forced induction has always been the goal, but whether or not it comes in the form of a supercharger, TT conversion, or a VR4...i dunno. my goal is to eventually go to a driving school and get into autocross.

my goal right now is to put down a low 11 second timeslip this year, the first time an automatic has broke into, hell, anything below 13s. Maybe in the next couple years, even the 10s. If 15G's can do 10's, then so can 18T's and nitto 555's have netted a grand prix GTP FWD ATX w/ the same stall as me, only weighs more than i do, 1.7' consistent 60' times.

Well assuming I see my car since it's been in the garage for AWHILE...

Get a VR-4 that needs a new engine
Put in an N/A engine, and then...

WELL IM GETTING MY VR4 THIS SUNDAY ... but imma but a greddy type s BOV and probly an intake in the next month or 2

I think I'm the only one who is not trying to go any lower then 14.9 seconds. see I dont need this car to be that fast cause I already am building up an 12 second Starion for under 4K. The Starion will be my drag car. the second problem with fast big power blocks is that the more HP you put into them the more maintenence that they require which is why I'd like to keep my 3s simple.

in the next few months I will be getting the 120k tune up over with. new ignition components including MSD wires, HKS V-power multiplier and new plugs. Down pipes and test pipe, new clutch and flywheel and the racing seats I got from PearlGT which I still havent installed!

Pay my car off....

Hehe, other than that, I'll probably get minimal performance mods, intake, 3sx pulley, and possibly exhaust. I want to finish setting up my audio. I also am aiming to restore the interior and take care of the areas where the clear coat came off on the exterior. Basically, I want to make sure that the car runs forever and looks great while it is doing just that.

Im planning on doing up the interior. new seats, trim kit, gauges, and anything else u can think of. also i would love to lower it about 1.5" but not anytime soon :( then im gonna add some neons in the engine an add some strobes to that and the interior. As far as performance ill get headers and a downpipe. and maybe an aluminum crank pulley. And for the exterior ill probably get different headlights and get the switch that controls how much they pop up. soon ill probably cut about 2 inches off of each side of my spoiler... if i find some nice slotted rotors that wont rust up ill get them. then repaint my calipers with gel coat...but the next thing i have to do is get new trim on the windows.thats both outside and inside. and i also have to get new regulators.

i dont see to many mods to my car in the future as i will probably get rid of my 3s car because its only a school car and i will be getting a real car. but i have been thinking of doing this

1. 18" chrome wheels
2. custom exhaust. with headers made to my spesifics. it seems that its cheaper to make someone do a custom exhaust than importing a aftermarket one

my goal is to get the mods in my sig.
However, I've changed my mind on the turbos and can't wait to get them next year.

Well after i make 3 phone calles tommrow hopfully find a rt/tt in my area thinking on gutting interior idk but other than that probably get a intake,boost controller,gut the cats No emission in my area. then later this year maybe a 99vr4 FEC
