I'd take the tC. I'm not much of a Scion fan, but this is a good little car.

why not compare to the civic si?? much better comparison to the tc than the civic ex. but if it has to be between these two, i'd go for the scion.

Hmmm, better looking and performing, and cheaper.
I'll take the Scion for 16 Bob.

I'd take the Scion over the Ex or the Si...until they come out w/a real Civic Type R...I dont want this 2.0 Liter 160hp crap engine that they threw in here...if they had at least put the RSX-S engine in the current Civic...it would at least have some BALLS...yes I know you can do the swap but where's the fun in buying a car from Honda if you have to change the whole motor to get what you want? They should offer it as an option at no cost

The tc nice car also has a aftermarket starting. BTW dont go for the TRD supercharger they don't give much another company came out with one that put out like 2x the amount of added hp on stock everything just alittle advice. Is there a waiting list where u live. At our local Toyota delership they have a silver one but i u want a differnt color u have to wait like a month or so.

Comparing 2 different categories of cars...Why bother...
1.7L VS 2.4L?! Heck, it's almost a half more than the smaller one...What are you thinking...?It's not a fair comparison to start with...

I agree- the Scion wins this one hands down. I think I might even like this car even better than the non GTS Celica. If you could find a nice 99 or 2000 Civic SI, you could save about six grand, so that might be worth considering. It's getting harder to find one that hasn't been thugged or ragged out, though. On the other hand, we don't know for sure how Scion's marketing scheme and resale will hold up in the long run. Considering the Midas touch that Toyota has had with Lexus and everything else they do, that issue probably isn't even worth worrying about. Besides, it's REALLY nice to have that new car warranty. I think the Scion may be the nicest all rounder on the market for the money. Yeah, go for the Toyo... uh, I mean Scion.

He is compairing the two cars because they have relitively the same price. Before i purchesed my 04 srt-4 i had a Scion TC. Def a WAY better buy then the Civic Ex. Loaded with options and has a fantastic stock sound system. There is loads of warrentied goodies you can get for the TC too.
On top of all of that the ladies love the TC.

yes the civic seems pretty out gunned in this comparo, I would also take the TC, and when you look at the numbers how could you not? with the exception of weight of course

^^ nice sig
I would take the Civic Coupe. The Scion tC is defininatly the best Scion out there. But, still, it's a Scion. The Civic and Scion are both built very well. And the prices are almost the same. But the Civic Coupe would be my chioce. Given it has less features.

i think its pretty obvious which one to pick
the scion tc has a slightly tuned camry engine, so its basically a toyota
its a really quick car for the price, i know its "just" a camry engine, but it was qucik when i was driving it, lots of low end torque as well (more than the civic)
the ex can't beat the tc in anything, even the price

you're comparing the Tc to a normal civic ex which isn't the best comparison and it's obvious which car is the better choice. you should be comparing the Tc to the civic si which makes it more evenly matched. still though i'd choose the Tc, the civic si just dont' look right to me and its performance isn't all that impressive. if they ever give us the type r then i could deal with the odd looks. :D.

I would rather have the civic ex. i like the scion, but i love hondas. i'm not sure about the reliabilty in the long run with a scion but i'm pretty sure the civics got it beat.

the scion is a toyota, toyotas are more reliable then hondas, the scion tc has more features, more horsepower, and cost less

They are both extremely reliable, but the tC has it soundly beat in performance, feature content, and even price. There is really no reason to pick the Civic unless you don't want the Scion name, or you think that Hondas are magically faster than any other cars.

You mean their not? lol
The Scion has it beat in almost every aspect, but the scion has alot Civic competitors cars beat in almost every aspect on paper...The only question is your subjective preference for its looks handling ect
