I was wondering if the Evo VIII factory steering wheel would mount/fit on a 96 eclipse. The eclipse wheel is very big in diameter in my opinion and isnt as sharp as the evo wheel.

Ok I called the dealer to day and i got a quote they told me about 1400 dollars and they told me they don't know if it would fit. so it would be trial and error but thats a high error. i would get it from a junk yard before i even chanced that.

$1400...goddamn that's a lot of money for a steering wheel....i would think they should fit though. all that really holds them on is a nut in the middle, take it off and use a steering wheel puller. then you should just be able to use the evo clockspring and wheel in the eclipse...i would imagine. i'm not an expert with steering wheels though lol

I'll take a look. I have an evo VIII as well as the eclipse so i'll take a look to see how it mounts up as soon as i get the evo back from the shop. The evo wheel is very nice though from MOMO and you won't lose your airbag.

what about the stearing rack? I hear the evo's have a much tighter steering ratio then the dsm's got.

im sure the steering rack is completly different. 2g's and evos are completly different frames so i doubt that it would work. you might be able to adapt one if you made custom mounts for it but i dont think it would be worth it.

For $1400 you could find something that is guaranteed to work and look cool. In my opinion there are a lot of cool Momo steering wheels out there.
I tried to put an APC steering wheel on my 1G one time and the place I bought it from didnt have the adapter to do it!!
Anyone know of any cheap spots to pick up a steering wheel for a 1G?

grant makes wheels that fit 1g's. not sure what your budget is but i think most grant wheels are about 130 plus whatever install adapters you need
