Does anyone know the ohm specs of the mass air flow sensor? its a 96' GMC 1500 w/ 305 vortec..
I took the intake and maf off the other day and started the truck to clean the throttlebody (used throttlebody cleaner) Then I cleaned the MAF (throttlebody cleaner) and put it all back together.. Now the truck wont idle under 1000rpm.. and jumps up to 1500 when I take it out of gear..

nobody??
It idles at 1100rpm, and when I put it into park, it races up to 1500rpm for a few seconds, than back down to 1100rpm..
It still idles smooth, and still drives the same as it used to.. Except the hard shifting from the high idle..
Is it possible I fried the MAF? I checked everywhere for vacuum leaks and I couldnt find any, I searched around the forum and come up with the throttlebody gasket.. Would this cause the problems?

I made some modifications on my buterfly on the throttlebody. When I first tried it, I did it wrong and my truck did what you describe. what happened was I created too much air going through the butterfly valve. I replaced it, redid the mod, no more problems.
In your case, sinse you did not do a mod like that, the only thing it might be that I can think of is did you by any chance touch the 3 little wire looking things iside the MAS? if so, its possibly your MAS. Those things are very delicate and hitting them wrong can mess it up. Other than that I suggest making sure you reinstalled everthing correctly. We are all human and sometimes make mistakes you know. Thats about all I can think of

no I never touched the MAS wires at all.. I thought i may have forgotten a hose or wire connector somewhere, but ive taken it off and put it on 3 times since and havent changed anything.. Quick check of the IAC valve, it seemed to be ok..
If it was a bad MAS, would it still idle smooth and drive normally (with the exception of the high idle?)
Edit: i unhooked the TPS and started the truck today and it made absolutly no difference.. It runs exactly the same wether the TPS is hooked up or not.. So i pulled it off.. the seat that slides over the throttlebody was very loose and had no spring action, shouldnt they be spring loaded?
