Where is the fuse for the cruise control?

Where is the fuse for the cruise control? I have a 97 Blazer LT and the cruise control does not work. The first thing to check is the fuse right? I looked in the fuse box and cross referenced the owners manual and cannot find where this is fused. Does someone out there know?
Also, if its not the fuse, what is the next thing to check?

Is the cruise cable still hooked up to the throttle lever?

One of the most common causes for the cruise to not work is the stop light switch. If the stop light switch is out of adjustment and is very sensitive, it will disable the cruise.

Another concern is the cruise engagement handle itself.

Also check your vacuum line to the booster container mounted on the underside of the hood (ball shaped container). There's a control module mounted to the fiewall where the vacuum line should originate- there's also a cable that runs from the firewall module over to the Throttle Body.

I checked the Haynes manual, it says there's a fuse, but my owner's manual doesn't list a cruise control fuse for any of the slots. Haynes manual does say there is a relay (these are mounted behind the glove box)

Looking thru the Haynes manual schematics (it's a slow day a work), the fuse for cruise control is the brake light fuse, #18, a 20 amp fuse.

So as rickza posted, if your brake lights are working, it most likely isn't a fuse. If your fuse is good, but the brake lights still don't work, it's the brake switch. If the switch is good, your problem lies somewhere in all the other stuff mentioned in the above posts.

After reading your story about the tranny change, also check the connection to the vehicle speed sensor. If you got 4wd, its mounted on the transfer case, if you got 2wd, it on the tail shaft of the tranny.
