O yah i forgot to say i pick the Vector sure it may not be the fastest but when it came out it was. Also check out the jet fighter insipred cockpit. With the vector you get a car designed by a guy who used to designer aircraft and EXTREME rareness. 18 W8 made.

But I'd take the Ford GT...it brings a heritage, great motor, and looks the best IHMO...and you dont have to spend half a million on it...

Ford GT for me, but you could probley of guessed that. It's fast cheap (for a supercar), looks good (the S7 TT has to many slits they added 28), and it's a FORD. I think the last one isn't a very good point for all but good enough for me.:sunglasse:biggrin: Don't flame like crazy just a joke.
Oh and the Ford GT is rated at 550hp not 500.

Saleen, Gotta have the light carbon fiber body and enough downforce to drive upside-down. Then the vector because they're just so cool and retro. Then ford because... well... its a ford that looks like a dune buggy to me, thats not a supercar lol.... Ohh and its a ford so thats a big nono!

Being the fastest doesnt mean you're the best...hell everyone loves the Enzo cuz it's the fastest Ferrari...ppl love the McLaren F1 b/c it was the fastest production car...blah blah blah...
I like cars w/character and speed...I mean if you gave me a Pagani...I would drive it...but not love it...sure it's fast and it has edgy styling...but I'd rather have a GT anyday...I havent seen one and probably wont...and I dont care if the Pagani is rarer...GT has class and history...unlike the Pagani
That's just a for instance...

This is a hard choice to make here. I love the looks on the GT, but I also love the performance on the S7.
Here is the choice I'd make. Take the engine and driveline out of the S7 and put it in the GT. I'd have the best of both worlds.
If I had to pick just one though I'd probably go with the S7. I don't think it looks that bad but the performance is un-godly and that's what gets my attention.

I'll take a Ford GT, it's the only one of the choices I've had an up-close look at. I'd consider trading my first born male for one.

The interior of that Vector kind of reminds me of my Vette but more flashy. I love the Vector already. So many buttons and displays it’s like being in a jet fighter.
As for the outside looks again I love em. Like my Vette but much more flashy. Since I will probably never get to so much as sit in a Vector, I wonder if I could just drop the body of one on my C4.

"I wanted to be a fighter pilot, but my eyesight's not good enough. So I decided to build a fighter plane for the street" - Weightert
You weren't that far from the truth actually. Anyway, I found that quote along with some information about the W8 from this site http://www.team.net/www/ktud/vector.html
Anyway, to me, the Vector W8 is nothing more but an American version of the Lamborghini. The looks, engine, and performance seem to match it all to well. If you read that site though, the company that owned Vector owned Lamborghini.

but look at the engine in the vector compared to the lambos of the same time oldsmobile v8 to lambo v12. Also why does that page think 500-600hp out of TTv8 is outragous? Thats actully quite tame but some of todays supercar standards.

i always thought that the proportions of the vector is alittle off. the over hangs were all wrong. and i always thought they were ugly compared to the countach. not to mention that the styling of the vector reminds me of vector triangles.
anyways looks wise, the GT takes the cake hands down. power wise though, the S7 TT. like what everyone said, if we could just put the engine from the S7 TT into the body of the GT then it would be perfect.

saleen engine into a modern GT?
with that money, why not just go and persuade someone to sell you an original GT40?
then there'd be no argument as to what car is better...

6 gears not enought for u? I think nething more is a waste. The only that could make it better would be a paddle shift so u could play F1 driver.

I think he was refering to the first post it say the vector has 3 forward gears to me that is not enough.
I don't really like the looks of the vector to much like an older lambo witch I don't like the look of either. The interior is pretty neat though.

Mosler MT900R Photon with the optional centrifugal supercharger (Vortech unit, I think).
The Mosler is the most successful of all the American supercars on track (which is the only TRUE measure of a supercar's worth; its track pedigree) and is devoid of any luxury or unnecessary technological frills.
The Mosler is a race tuned Corvette LS1 hooked up to a racing Hewland six speed transaxle. The Mosler is an aluminum/fiberglass composite honeycomb monocoque frame with carbon fiber bodywork. While the GT weighs 3390lbs, the Saleen weighs 2950lbs, and the Vector weighs 3320lbs, the Mosler featherweights in at a mere 2200lbs.
While the GT trades in on its successful racing forebear (quite crassly, too), and the Saleen bludgeons its way into GTS class mediocrity, the Mosler proves that racing is the one true measure of the breed, and followed a philosophy that has made idols of such marques as Ferrari, Lotus, and McLaren.
Before it can be a great sportscar, it has to be a great race car.

Saleen S7 is one of those cars that you will never see on the street, but hear about all the time. Same goes with the Lambroghini Murcielago, Porsche Carerra GT (I have a friend who's dad is getting one by mid March, so mabey I'll see it), or the Ferrari Enzo.
The Ford GT is more of a realistic supercar. It is cheap (as far as supercars go) and will steal F430 and Gallardo sales. You will see one every so often by the summer of 06'. The Ferrari 360 isnt uncommon in the city I live in (Its a wealthy, upscale suburb of Minneapolis), so I will see mabey 3 this summer.
I go with the Ford GT.

You want a real American supercar? "Suck" on this.

The 1970 Chaparral 2J "Sucker Car". It generates aerodynamic grip via a snow mobile engine hooked up to the underbody of the car. Weighing in at only 821 kg, thanks in part to an aluminum monocoque body, this car uses a monstrous 8.0-liter Chevy V8, sending 700+ horsepower through a 3-speed auto gearbox to the rear wheels. It doesn't get much cooler - or much faster - than this.

i) the ford gt won't be stealing sales because it is, if ford keep their word, a limited run car all of which, if i'm not mistaken, has been sold. 400 cars right?
ii) the ford gt isn't a realistic supercar because it only has an effective range of 75-90 miles on a full tank of fuel.
iii) the chapperal is a race car so i'm not quite sure if it can be used as an example....

All the fords Gt where sold like 2 weeks after there debut. Fuel consupemtion really doesn't matter. The chapperal is a race car so no good in this comp.

???? What do u mean realistic supercars? Supercars don't have to get 30 mpg its a super car. If u have the money to buy it u have the money to pay for the gas. Like tiff neddel said when ppl critizied the murcielago " its a super car if u want good gas mileage or a well behaved car buy a compact."

Fair enough. In that case, I'll stick with one of my favorite, and one of the most least known, American supercars, the Panoz Esperante GTLM.
http://us.autos1.yimg.com/img.autos.yahoo.com/aic/panoz_esperante_gtlmcoupe_2004_385x192.jpg
Take the immensely powerful and durable supercharged 4.6L DOHC V8 and six-speed manual powertrain from the SVT Cobra and drop it into a much, much lighter and more rigid space-age body with a race car suspension, and this is what you get. It's expensive and not overly reliable, but the uniqueness and pureness of the Panoz make it well worth the costs.

i didn't bring up 'realistic', the other guy did
and
it's not about mpg as they all have a mpg of around 10-20 anyway.
it's about the amount of miles you can cover on a single tank of fuel.
75-90 miles in the ford is just silly.
it isn't in any way, realistic.
the 360 has, i believe, a 25 gallon fuel tank; even at 10 mpg that gives 250 miles.
the same for the murcielago.
i think that car has a 26 and a bit fuel tank and typically runs 10 mpg (260 miles).
now do you see why i say the ford gt isn't really a realistic supercar?
it is, in my eyes, a toy.
something ford made in order to try to gain some credility.
as a singular example of how a car feels/behaves/performs it might well be a world class supercar but it is hardly an everyday use supercar that the other ones can be.

Ahh ok i see what u where u coming from now. As for the esperante its ok i read a article bout them not to long ago. But the Cobra engine doesn' just sound very super car to me. I know it probably has alot better P-to-W ratio though.

Nope, it's certainly not a glamourous or particularly distinctive engine. What it is, however, is a powerful, durable, affordable, down-to-business motor that suits the Esperante perfectly, in my opinion.
