Drag

When driving on the interstate, does having your sunroof popped up at a slant like this, /, well not all the way up like that, but you know how our sunroof does that...does that produce more drag at higher speeds?

I would think it would diminish some, but why are you asking anyways?:alien: :bloated: :licker: :smoka: :flash:

Hahaha I was just reading this on the net about cars loosing a lot of their power because of drag when traveling at higher speeds. Also lowers mpg. Other than just, just curious.

A little. I don't think that it would change your MPG as much as other things like tire pressure and how hard you run it, etc.

One good tip is that anything producing wind noise, road noise, etc. is friction which is producing drag. For example, if you have an air leak that whistles at high speeds this disrupts air flow and costs 1-1.5 mpg.

If you have the sunroof wind deflector, then it shouldn't make any difference at all.:)

Except I think that would add more drag than without if your talking about those smoked plastic covers on the front edge of the roof opening.

Of course it would create drag and wind friction but you won't feel the difference or mph or mpg unless you are at extremely high speeds...I remember reading about a Supra turbo and they test that exact theory...they experimented by doing top speed passes on a flat surface road...think the salt flats...anways they did a regular pass and then they turned the side mirrors into the body and taped up any little lines infront of the car...such as headlight line, hood lines and whatever they could think would cause drag....they got like 5mph more at high speeds....
