Yep, Slim Shadys back. I wanted to know what you guys personally think about it. I like it because im a fan of Eminem and his rap style and I get tired of hearing about "hoes", money, and vehicles. He spits off the top off his head and dosent care how people take it. But anyway what do you think? EncorE, YaY or NaY.

Havent really listened to much of it, but from what I've heard it seems pretty good. I prefer the songs not played on the radio/tv though. Those are too poppy and cheesey. I still like his first two albums the best though.

a few songs are good but all in all I don't really like it. he's fuckin' around too much, not enough serious shit. i like the Green lantern mixtapes with Em's battle raps vs. Ja Rule, Everlast, Dilated Peoples and Benzino.

Worth the money though.

^^ Yup
His shit is gay now, its like he doesnt even try. Spit some serious shit, now everyone of his rhymes is like a joke. Like that stupid song where he does that wack accent for the WHOLE SONG. Pleeeease, what a waste of a good beat.
Em fell the fuck off, first 2 albums were hot, then it just started goin downhill. He ran out of shit to rap about.
PS. He doesnt spit off the top of his head
He writes shit down, Jay-Z is like the only one who spits everything off the top. He doesnt write anything down.

i think Eminem's 100x better than jigga. he's just a beat stealin, rhyme robbin, bum IMO. i forget what song it was, but in one song dissin jay-z someone says "how many of Big's rhyme's are gonna come out your fat lips", hit the nail on the head IMO.

no no no, what biggie did was lyrical genius. Like in Gimme The Loot, he made his voice different an then talked to the 2 voices like they were 2 different people. Nobody ever did that before. Eminem does some stupid mexican accent or something cause he thinks its funny... but it just sounds stupid, theres no point to it. And in the chorus says "doing d-doing doing doing." Gimme a break... find me a track where biggie does stupid shit like that, he was serious about his craft. Em is just after what sells records now, with his "shocking," "joke" style. It's old
I used to like Eminem, he was one of my favorites... but he fell off hard. You can tell his albums are just made to move units when you hear the mixtape shit he does... but even that is getting weak, like that "Shade 45 Freestyle" That was the epitome of garbage, i dont even know what that was
Yes.. Jigga does bite big rhymes, but not like he's trying to pass them off as his own. He takes it and flips it like to pay his respects to biggie. And how does he steal beats? I think you're thinking of Puffy man....
Jigga NEVER EVER writes ANYTHING down on paper... all of his songs he does in his head and keeps'em there. He does a whole album without writing anything down.... IMO thats incredible. Anybody that can do that, you cant call them a bum. Eminem even writes all of his freestyles, if you've ever flipped through that freestyle book he put out. He says that he'd write these freestyles so when he'd go on the radio he'd be ready to drop one. Saying Eminem is 100x better than Jay-z is a joke... and i'm not even a Jay-Z fan, I've bin a Nas fan since Illmatic.
Listen to Jay-Zs "Reasonable Doubt" album, and you cant tell me the mans not a genius. He's bin doin it long before Eminem came around
an btw the fat lips line is from Nas "ether" diss

what i meant was that biggie never wrote his rhymes down either.
i agree that this album was too goofy, it wasn't his best, but that "doing-doing" song did have a point. it wasn't some random mexican accent. it was making fun of Triumph the comic insult dog, the puppet on MTV all the time, and it was commenting on the fact that the people controlling the puppet can say whatever they want no matter who gets offended and no one gets pissed off but eminem says shit and catches hell for it. listen to the actual lyrics of the song, it's self explanatory.

the song "ain't no nigga" with foxy brown, from his first cd, that beat was from the alkoholiks album and the whole "2002 bonnie and clyde" beat and styling of the song was a total rip off of Tupac's "96 Bonnie and Clyde". he gave no mention to the fact that Pac did that song first and did it better, most people don't even know it was a remake.
the verse "he's is me and i am him, slim, with the tilted brim on 20" rims" is taken from an older snoop dogg song,
"when the Remmie's in the system..." that whole verse was a biggie verse.
Also jigga spits a verse in one of his songs where he says "if i ain't better then big i'm the next one" i just thing he's a cocky piece of shit, he can't think he actually holds a candle to Biggie and i can name 10 artist better than him that would run a second place to Big. I don't hate Jay-z. i really liked the shit he did with Jaz-O way back in the day, and when he rhymed with Big L, Killa Cam and Ma$e Murder, back when they had the group "children of the Corn" and Diggin' in the Crates". He's not a bum, he definitely busted his ass to get where he is, i just don't like how he evolved. Reasonable doubt was his only really good album.

The only thing I have to say is that I agree with both BP and Gotti.
Jay-Z has a great talent for not writing stuff down. The fact that Biggie did that too was why Jay-Z respected him so much. Think that was on Behind The Music or something.
As far as Eminem goes, he's gone down hill big time. I understand him "maturing" but he can mature and still make killer rhymes and not try and make it all poppy, kiddy puff stuff. His old albums would only have a max of 3 songs that could be played on the radio. Now at least half of the damn albums will air.
I don't see a big deal with using a few lines here and here from other people. I do think if it is taken they should throw in ".............just like..." and name the artist. That way you give shot outs and they know its not their lines.

Jigga isn't a producer... he doesnt steal anything. You can blame that on the producer if you want to. He just picks the beats he likes
Its not exactly the same as the me and my bitch beat, and he doesnt have to give a shout out that its a pac beat cause thats implied. Everybody knows that was a pac song, and he just took it and flipped it... nothing wrong with that
You dont understand that its aright to flip lines... people just hate on jigga cause he does it so much. But its basically like he's givin props to the first person that said it... and alot of your favortie rappers prolly do it to, they jus dont catch heat for it. Just look in the Source or XXL i forget which one has it, the page where they show all the jacked rhymes every month. Everybody does it.
An about the "if i aint better than big" line... thats Jigga's thing, he acts like a cocky hustler, you're supposed to expect him to say that kind of shit. An if you like Children of the Corn and Diggin in the Crates but you dont like how he evolved from that, just look at the other rappers that evolved from that... they arent any better than Jay, except for Big L but he's gone. Did Camron evolve better? Hell no... he spits dumb stupid rhymes like "I keep my computer 'putin." What about Mase? Did you listen to his album? He aint even close to the level Jay's on. What about Fat Joe from DITC, you think he can out rhyme Jay??
Jay didnt evolve that bad, he still rhymes about basically the same shit on his albums. Just after Reasonable Doubt he started putting a couple Pop tracks on all his albums to move units, cause he's a hustler. Have you ever actually listened to Vol 1,2,3 an the blueprint? Besides the MTV tracks, the albums are real good.

Selling out is what Artists do to make more sales. And if that means rapping about anything that'll get you an M rated album and put on the album because of your "radio friendly tunes", than that's it.
Metallica did it in 1995, but people believed it happened earlyer in 1991.
Most bands do sell out, because they realise a potential market for their style. Bands like Offspring, Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, Ashley Simpson, Lohan, and Gwen all share a common phrase of styled music; commersialised pop/pop-punk/soft-core radio friendly "pop tunes".
Commercial radio throws this shit down our throats, and so does T.V.
They do it for a reason; money. That's what raps about. That's what "pop-punk" is about.
If Eminem truely was "ganstar" he'd be in jail by now, or dead.
Even so, before he sold out to his "younger generation friendly albums" I knew an 8 year old listening to his "Marshall Mathers L.P", not the material I think SHE should be listening to. Even though the material back then was concidered "ganstar", and controversial, his new material is more than just a swing away from his older, fresher shit.
The Problem I have with this, is the world still think's he is a rap artists....He still think's he can rap.
Rap is suppose to be street, not rapping about, well, what ever "just lose it" is about, I haven't quite figured it out. And he is STILLL "Rapping" about the media and how he's ganstar and how everone is judging his wrong, fuck, get over it already.

So to those who didnt like it did u listen to the whole cd for more than 4-5 days or just skim thru it? he does have a few "joke songs" but he has the same amount of "serious" songs. I think he's just being himself. On this album he's just letting it all hang out; and those that dont like this album just dont like Eminem.

you're wrong. i've been an eminem fan since way back when. i bought sirius radio just so i could listen to Shade45, i have every green lantern mixtape, i even have eminem's infinit album. IMO, his new cd's his worst, but i still like him as an artist. everyone puts out a poo album or song once in a while. even tupac had a couple floppers, but i still think he's the greatest of all time.
Em's album has some good songs, but that doesn't make it a good album. a good album you can put in on song one and take out at the end without skipping tracks (ie. the old wu-tang album, most tupac albums, Method man's first album, Raekwon's first album). i just think he could have done better.
The Problem I have with this, is the world still think's he is a rap artists....He still think's he can rap. if you really think eminem can't rap, then your opinion is this thread is gonna have little bearing, cuz that's just foolish. if you think just any old white guy can become a star rapper, then you really don't know rap. EMinem caught a lot of shit when he first came out and a lot of my black friends clowned on him like crazy. They all bump his shit now.
If Eminem truely was "ganstar" he'd be in jail by now, or dead.
cuz then' we'd really know how well could rap, right? "gangster's" turn to rap so they don't have to do all the hustling shit anymore.
I live the lifestyle of drug dealers, but now legitly(legitimately) would you rob people and sell drugs if you didn't have to, just so you can all youself a gangster? c'mon now.
Rap is suppose to be street, not rapping about, well, what ever "just lose it" is about, I haven't quite figured it out. And he is STILLL "Rapping" about the media and how he's ganstar and how everone is judging his wrong, fuck, get over it already.
eminem never claimed to be gangster. one of the verses in his songs is actually "never once did you hear my say i'm a gangster, and i don't hear no complaints"
he doesn't try to come off as a gangster, selling drugs, killin people(well i guess he does like to talk about killing people), etc. but that was never his schtick. honestly man, it seems to me like you're just making a bunch of unqualified statements to discredit a man that worked his ass off the get where he is out of spite or jealousy. he had one not so great album, give the fuckin' guy a break. he's working wonders in the rap game otherwise. he's put on more new artists this year than almost any other record label's last 5 years. After biggie, tupac, big L, and big pun died, rap had hit a low point, i think eminem had a big part to play in getting it back on track
