Write to different companies, and tell them what you want, and how they would benefit, what kind of exposure they can expect, etc

^ that too

i'd start off with small companies though, preferrably some that are just starting out and don't have a car fixed up to show people yet

I think this game is more of a "you gotta have money to get it" type of thing. Why would a shop sponsor you and your gang instead of someone elses crew?! How many people out there would want free parts?? Hany people are constantly trying to get free parts from shops?!

You gotta give them a reason, and often times it comes from having a kick-ass ride to begin with. A guy I know was spending $25Gs + at a car audio shop and they offered him a sponsorship but he declined because he wanted it to be his car. Why would they want to just give you parts for free if you're not already showing that you have the dough and a wicked car that would be worthwhile sponsoring?

Its a really tough game man, don't be looking for hand-overs.. You're going to have to put in the money and work before anythings going to happen.

yeah dont tell them, yeah i have a stock car and i plan on making it go 10s. no no, you have to show them a 10sec car and say you want to go faster or say you need money for a race season and will put htere name on the side of your car.

you got to put in the dough before they give you the go

it is also good to know that its basicly never gonna happen if i put the time and money into making my car what i want it to be, then people want to sponsor me thats stupid. where were they befor?

Well, I think you can figure out why they don't sponsor guys with no money but big dreams.

How would they ever know who to sponsor?! If that was the case you'd have to have kahoots with someone who owned something (shop, or company) and by the sounds of it you probably don't, so you're SOL. :p

You gotta show that you are passionate and have some sort of history. Some of my sponsors came up to me at events or contact me through email or phone.

I've been autocrossing for 8 years and have a great resume to start. I attend about 40 autocross events a year! Plus I let me sponsors know that their company will be seen by alot of people on the street and at races.

my friend just got sponsored by "house of boom" and some decal company. he gets 50% off of all stuff from house of boom (car audio).
