Wastegate?

My friend said that the little thing that sits on the top and towards the front of the supercharger on my '97 GTP is a wastegate. I was just wondering if it has a wastegate and if you can somehow modify it to prevent it from limiting the amount of PSI that the supercharger can produce. I'm talking about the little little piece that looks like a turbo wastegate right after the throttlebody.

The amount of psi that the supercharger can produce is going to be limited to how fast you are spinning it.

Thanks for the info, I am curious if you have done this and also if it is safe. If you have, are the results positive or negative? Thanks again
