'97 service engine light - misfire

I have a 97 caravan 3.0L. The service engine keeps coming on. AutoZone has read the code and says that it is a multi cylinder misfire and a #6 Cylinder Misfire. I have changed plugs (that was a treat  ), new plug wires, and at the suggestion of AutoZone I installed a new Ignition Coil. Does anybody have a suggestion.
Car seems to run fine. Just the bloody light keeps coming on.

you might have an injector that's clogged up; try putting in some fuel injector cleaner in your van, let it run through the system and see what it does from there.

I would highly recommend checking the voltage to be sure there is not a problem with the alternator. Hook up a volt meter, start the car, turn on everything electrical and let it idle for 15-20minutes to see if the voltage drops over time. It's a free check (assuming you have a voltmeter or multi-tester available) and if this is the problem you could end up replacing a whole lot of parts and never fix it.

I should have mentioned that over the last two months I have run three tanks of gas with full injector cleaner. I even tried one bottle of the stuff in the tank that only had 1/4 tank of gas. What should my next step be?
Thanks for your help.
FYI: A high concentration of fuel injector cleaner can foul your plugs. It can also play heck with the 02 sensor output.
You say 'the van runs fine, it's just the CEL light keeps coming on.....'.
Does it read the same code each time?

I have replaced the battery, AutoZone checked the Alternator and said it was fine. It keeps coming back with the one of two codes. Usually it is a multi cylinder misfire, or once iin a while it is a #6 misfire.
evictor,
It could be a leak between the intake manifold and the heads. You can try the propane test: With the engine idling, put an unlit propane torch around the manifold gasket interface, and fuel injector rail. If there is a leak the engine RPM will increase slightly.

I also have the same problem. Here's a site that has some common problems w/ caravans. I am also experiencing an oil leak somewhere. I think it may be the head gasket.

did you fix this problem? What was it because i'm having the same issue. Interested to see if anyone has found a cure for this problem. It happened to me when I changed the timing belt and waterpump. Van still runs, just idles rough from time to time and still getting the trouble codes for #6 cylinder misfire.

You're right about changing the plugs/wires especially the ones on the backside of the engine. Did you check to make sure the spark plug wires are FIRMLY seated on the plugs? The backside can be especially deceiving. It wouldn't hurt to check again. It could be something as simple as that. Good luck!
