i'm looking into getting a 5th gen lude, but i use my rear seat a lot, so the space it offers is kinda important to me. my friend has a 4th gen, and that space would be usable if the rear seat passengers could fit their feet under the front seats. thats near impossible except for your toes, so the front seats need to be moved way up and the front passengers are then not comfortable. how does the 5th gen rear seat compare to the 4th gen? if its not worse at least, i think it should be fine. i appreciate anything you guys could tell me

I think it's about the same or worse. I never had to sit back there so I'm not sure. From what most of my friends say, it's the smallest back seat they ever tried to squeeze into.

honda claims more rear legroom but even so, still pretty useless unless you're a small child. if you're lookign for room in the back, you're looking at the wrong car. trunk is pretty puny too but otherwise fine cars. if i were you and you were interested in a sporty coupe with some reasonable backseat room, look into the accord coupe. the V6 is just about as fast as a 5th gen, doesn't handle as well but not bad at all. just unfortunate the V6 can only be had in automatic. if you can deal with a small backseat, i'd suggest the prelude over the accord coupe anyday, but you should consider an accord if you want more space.

The '03 and up V6 Accord coupes are available with 6 speed trannies and they are alot faster than 5th gen Preludes. They run mid 14's in the 1/4 stock.

i'm really looking heavily at the prelude. i'm not planning on taking anybody on a long drive and having them sit back there, just occasionally around town.

yeah, i was talkin about the previous gen accords. the 03 and up accord coupes are a bit more expensive than a 5th gen prelude or accord coupe of the same year(s)

I haven't sat in the back of a 5th gen myself. But from the looks of it, the back is slightly larger than my 4th gen. Though, with Prelude rear seats being tiny to begin with, I reckon the difference is negligible.

This is my sister's 2003 accord. not much rear legroom either but a lil bigger than 4th gen lude.
