K i had a few other questions that i figure i might as well get out of the way, What exactly does synchronizer assemblies and oil pumping systems provide? do these affect the engine performance?
Thanks

Synchonizers are part of a manual transmission. They are what prevent gears from grinding during shifts. They are typically little brass cones that engage when you shift, and the friction causes the gears to match speed (synchronize) so that the shift is smooth.

Oil pumps are part of the engine and are absolutely a requirement. They supply all the engine parts with oil. If they fail, its not usually an engine "performance" thing, its more like its running one second, then the next its a lump of useless iron. Failing oil pumps don't cost the engine any power really, but if they die, you'll know it by the empty wallet they cause :)
