I already posted about the wheel bearing going bad. I think that is what is make the wining sounds while I drive.

Is the wheel bearing also responsible for the clunking sounds or might that be an axle cv joint.

When does the clunking sound occur? Is it only when you turn the wheel sharply in one direction? If it is, then it could be the CV joint. Check the rubber boots that cover the CV joints and if any are torn or split open, then you probably have a bad joint.

If the clunking noise happens when you go over a bump, like when you enter a driveway, or go over a series of small bumps in the road, then check your lower control arm bushings. One of mine was bad when I bought my Alero. It's hard to explain where it is, but it's at the back end of the large aluminum arm that attaches your front wheel hub to the frame. The bushing is a large round piece of rubber that's pressed into to the control arm. If it looks like it's detached, then it's probably bad. Have a mechanic look at them if you're not sure.

Busings eh, I think I have another car. Olds cutlas supreme with that problem. it doesn't clunk around corners but clunks on almost every bump in the road. I thought it might have been suspension, I just haven't had a chance to look.
