quivering steering wheel

I just had my ball joints replaced on my 99 ford ranger (right front) and before i had the work done i told them that when i turned the wheel to turn the steering wheel would quiver abit. After $465 later the ball joints are replaced and the steering wheel still quivers when i turn the wheel. The mechanic said that the power steering pump was fine and that it was possible that the rack was starting to weaken and to keep an eye on it. Does this sound right??? The truck has 78000 miles on it and has never been in an accident. I know that balljoints and tierods are known to be a big replacement item on them.

If you powerbrake, which is where you apply the brake and give it the pedal then your discs are warped and thats the quivering it will also do this when you brake, you can check this by removing the front tires and look for foggy spots on the discs.

or

you may have broken belts in the tires and they need new tires cause once this happens its done for tire wise that is.

take the tires of and roll it down the drive way rolling it and holding your hand against the tire if you feel and indent then the belts are broken in the tire and need replaced.

or

other than that if this isn't your problem i don't know right off hand
