Funny you should say that, Here in NY something like moving and changing addresses increases your chances of being summoned. As well as getting a drivers license, marriage license, name change, etc. anything that has to do with updating records. Seems your named is entered again in the jury pool, or something along those lines that increases your chances.

Hmm makes sense.....my experience though is that I've gotten called for jury duty twice, in a place I had just move from so figure I stayed one step ahead.

I had Jury Duty once... never did it.

I had jury duty once too, but the summons was mailed to my old address, so I didnt get it and had a warrant out for it. I moved though.

Isn't it disturbing to think that some poor bastard's entire future is in the hands of 12 people too stupid to get out of jury duty.

Here you have to be 18 (voting age). personally i kinda look forward to it as long as its durring the summer

Imagine the hardships jury duty can cause if you get on a long term case like Kobe Bryant, Scott Peterson, and probably Michael Jackson. Especially if the jury gets sequesterd for any length of time. Nowadays, though, jurors can turn that around by getting a book deal, or going on one or more of the popular talk shows.

That blows. I am glad I my cases got thrown out. I beat up some catholic school sissy for talkin shit. He then swung at me and learned a lesson.

I pretty much get summoned once a year whether I like it or not....
Even got stuck every thursday for 2 years on a Federal Grand Jury
