Mk4 Astra Coupe

Some of these had Turbo's EcoTecs putting out 220hp!
Lotus Carlton

these did over 155mph 0-60 in about 4.9 secs using a lotus Engine. In the rest of Europe they were an Opel Omega and the next gen in England adopted the Omega Moniker.

Anyone Recognise it? That’s right Cadillac Catera! Also the Holden that become the GTO was Austrlais 2 door verion of this car! So the GTO is a 2-door Catera with a V8!

Very interesting, noshun. Did you take these your self in England? JK
Is it true that the Mk2 Cav was sold in Japan as a Toyota? Heard that somewhere.

Now how does that work, does toyota get the money? Why can't Chevy just sell them as Chevys? Is it like Nissan/Datsun, where Nissan was afriad no one would buy them if they were Nissans, so they sold them as Datsun?
I feel more interesting info brewing in NOSHUN's brain...

Datsun was Worldwide and was actually the Initials of all the Investors that got the company running. Nissan was always the background name. in the late eighties they were Datsun Nissans! But they thought Nissan was better and I actually believe that it was tow words combined to make Nissan something to do with where it strated and some guy. The Toyota things come from Gm long time affiliation with them hance the similarites between the Matrix and Pontiac Vibe. Gm would have split the profit from the Toyota cav. I would imagine that Gm would have presented them with the idea and not vice versa. I believe toyota helped in the development of the quad fours and the ld9. However else could GM makes a 2.3 make 190hp?!?!?!?! Thats Honda results! Although whoever had the idea for the IDI plate was a buffoon! Looks cool but is a pain in the ass! Gm would have paid to ship parts over to Toyota as I doubt they assembled them in Japan that would have cost even more. I guess GM did it to test the market for the kind of Vehicle that the Cav Z24 is although I don't think they sold particulalry well and lets face it it's not ever going to be a collector car is it?

Gonna post pics of my cav on that forum so they can see how it's done this side of the pond. Probably some modded ones too! Also how cool would it be to fit that bodykit on the Omega above on a Catera running 20's?
