I know that TBI stands for Throttle Body Injection, and that TPI stands for Tuned Port Injection... But what are the physical differences between the two? Also which is better?

TBI is more like a carb, it has a centrally located throttlebody with usually 2 injectors on it. TPI has a forward mounted throttlebody and 1 injector per cylinder mounted in the intake over each cylinder's intake valve. TPI is the better coice for performance...but TBI can also be modded to perform well.

with major mods the TBI is a killer. but so can the TPI. but the tpi just looks so cool. but i love my TBI setup. my car came with a 305, i swapped it out for a 350. just have to get a custom chip made to run the 350, and some other mods.

which is better cant really be asked. in terms of efficiency: tpi in terms of performance its pretty much the same as the carb/injected debate.
